Frequently Asked Questions (K-ETA)

K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization that visa-free and visa-waiver foreign nationals must obtain before boarding a flight or ship bound for the Republic of Korea. It assesses traveler eligibility online and simplifies entry immigration.

A standard K-ETA approval is valid for 3 years from the date of issuance (or until the applicant's passport expires, whichever occurs first) and permits multiple entries into South Korea within the allowed period of stay.

Travelers are advised to apply at least 24 to 72 hours before boarding. If you have urgent travel plans, Priority Rush (12–24h) and Super Rush (within 6h) expedited services are available.

The portrait photo must be in color, taken against a clear light background, front-facing without hats or dark glasses, under 100 KB (JPG/PNG), showing full facial features clearly.

Yes. Up to 9 accompanying persons (total 10 applicants) can be submitted together under a single representative application. Consolidated payment and tracking are supported.

If your purpose of entry, address in Korea, or contact information changes after K-ETA approval, you can update your information online through the K-ETA portal before arriving in South Korea.

Like all electronic authorizations worldwide, K-ETA grants permission to board a carrier bound for South Korea. The final decision on admission and duration of stay rests with the Korea Immigration Service officer at the border control checkpoint.
